Our Odoo Story
While Dream Mountain Services started its life as a website development and local lead generation firm we are now a leading Odoo development and implementation company in the USA. We also specialize in the Odoo accounting system and offer full accounting support.
So how did we transition from website development to specializing in the Odoo ERP system?
Our founder, Andrew Hastings, was helping his wife setup and run a textile manufacturing company. Experiencing rapid growth producing a specialized product they quickly outgrew the standard software options. After getting tired of hacking together 10 different software systems they began the search for a better option.
Andrew wanted a single system that could handle the entire business process from sales, manufacturing and accounting. If they couldn't find anything, Andrew was going to start building it from scratch.
After several months testing and eventuating different software options they found OpenERP (Now known as Odoo). Back then, it was still fairly raw and needed some improvement. However, it seemed like they were headed in the correct direction and covered all the main elements they needed at that time. They decided to move forward and implement this open-source platform as the base for their business.
With the pressures to get the system up and running quickly, they relied on various Odoo "experts" as they began learning the system. Results were mixed at best, but the system was up and running and business was growing.
Even with the frustrating moments, it was clear that Odoo was going to make waves in the ERP world. After a few years learning the system and several more bad experiences with Odoo "experts" Andrew decided to pivot his website agency and start offering Odoo support to others reaching out for help.
It didn't take long before Odoo became the primary focus of Dream Mountain's work and it was decided to drop all other systems and only support Odoo going forward.
Now years later, Odoo continues to grow exponentially. Year after year it continues to push the boundaries on what an ERP should be. We are still as excited about Odoo as we were years ago and believe it is the best business management software available today.
